It has become a real plague in this part of Europe: loosing cargo due to criminal activities. Trade goods are trusted to somebody thought to be honest entrepreneur only to disappear somewhere between loading station and destination point. In business relations powered by lowest possible price and time pressure perpetrators prosper. I have seen it so many times: At first glance all seems ok. The contract is quickly negotiated and signed. The stamp under it looks quite normal, even if the signature is rather vague or unclear. But hey, there is no time for that - client is waiting! 'This internet platform the freight company found us through is a hub for professionals, right? They surely check the users somehow before allowing them to offer their services there.' And this is an environment where they hunt. Fake identities, short-lived internet accounts and trucks on false registration numbers are only the tools here. Offering favorable conditions is to lure your lorry into the trap. When it snaps the cargo is ending up in unknown destination - a warehouse or even a chop-shop. Some people engaged are not even aware of being part of an elaborated scam.
What to do then? What when looking for a cheapest possible carrier to deliver cargo from let us say Copenhagen port to a store nearby Vilnius via northern and central Poland you have been hit by them? Inform the Police, of course. But which unit exactly? What is the address? And should it really be the Police? Maybe better option is to start with a prosecutor's office right away? Cargo value was substantial to say the least. But again, which office will be the one? With almost 2500 communities in Poland finding prosecutor authorized to open criminal proceedings (the list you can find clicking here, it is in Polish) could be extremely difficult. And if even the Police finds nothing? The problem is such an investigation quite often leads nowhere. What to do next? To appeal? Where (see how many courts there are in Poland clicking here)? What are the costs? How much time do I have to file my appeal? If you are still reading this page asking the same or similar questions I think it is time you contact me. We should start our cooperation immediately. Unfortunately for you the clock is ticking.
